Extract from figure feels fantom in Art Licks, Issue 22, March 2018

figure feels fantom draws on an encounter with an unpublished short story by Sally Miller Gearhart in The University of Oregon archives.

Designed specifically to be experienced in the physical magazine format, this series of drawings plays with the traditional animation ‘phantom’ by bringing this gesture of movement into dialogue with the figure of the fan who ‘haunts’ the archive.

Extracts from figure feels fantom in Art Licks, Issue 22, March 2018

figure feels fantom was originally created for GORSEDD, a special issue of Art Licks co-edited by Miriam Austin and Holly Willats.
