Returning to sites that are haunted by failure, the desiring fan disturbs specters from the past....

This short presentation offers fandom as a practice of re-animation.   Drawing on works of fiction, theory and fandom from Suzette Haden Elgin, Jeanne Gomoll, Catherine Grant and Elizabeth Freeman, this paper considers how encounters with feminist failures might conjure new imaginary possibilities for the future.
